  • Why this tree makes me worry.

    tree (6)

So, for the time being this little tree is cute. I got some great picture of myself and my daughter posing on it BUT monsoon is coming up. In short, that means high winds and unpredictable heat and sometimes even hail. Mind you, this tree does NOT belong in Arizona in the first place. We've been lucky that when the HOA planted it that all it kinda did was start to lean in the storms but well, there's a new storm season coming. Most don't understand that our monsoons are no laughing matter. Its kind of like a tornado(our winds reach speeds of tornados sometimes) with hail and rain and dust and sometimes mud. After a long talk outside about this tree- well, I am worried with the upcoming storm season if they don't take this tree away.

This tree it pointed directly at our house. Yes, although the chances are minor that it may come flying straight through our home it is still a worry since our storms are unpredictable. Most likely, yes it will end up falling down and killing the overhang at the park but since our kitchen and living area downstairs(where we all spend the most time at) is directly facing this park..its a worry. Once upon a time, the hubby and I lived on a golf course..one monsoon took out and de-rooted a 30 year old year tree on the golf course...thats how bad our storms can get and every year we get about two storms which are pretty bad. Now, with that being said..look back at the picture. Yep, I really don't want a tree flying through my house. Yes, we have home owners insurance but its still pretty scary to even think of that possiblity with all of us in the house and all of the animals we have here. I would like to think that something that could be avoided would well, be avoided especially when our HOA is behind the planting of the trees at this park.

The hubby is going to call the HOA and try to get them to do something about it without putting up a fight. We've seen how much money they have(its public information) and they can easily fix it. In fact, the landscapers were just here today cleaning up the park and they again, didn't touch it. We know they do have the money to fix it. They easily could fix it- not only are they putting us in danger but also since our storms tend to be unpredictable whose to say this tree won't get picked up and hit another house. A lot of people in this neighborhood have kids and I would hate for another family to get injuried by a tree that gets moved during a monsoon and moreso there's a ton of people on our street who are renters. I would hate to think what would happen if renters have their stuff ruined and get stuck on the street because of a broken roof from a tree that well, could have been taken out for the communities safety.

Needless to say, now I'm annoyed that its a holiday weekend and nothing can be done until Monday. I really hope they do something because I really see the chance that this tree could cause a ton of damage.
