  • Has technology made us dumb?

      Yes, this is a serious question..Has technology made us dumb? Sure, its nice to be connected at all times but seriously, it seems to have made us dumb. I was out at the airport for about two hours while my oldest got onto the plane. Now, mind you..the amount of people NOT paying attention to the world around them and paying more attention to their smartphones was maddening. I had my own run-ins with trying to avoid people who weren't paying attention to themselves or even their children but my husband was physically knocked over by someone's luggage who well, wasn't paying attention.

      I think its great that you can be connected to the internet at all times nowadays but at the same time I think it has made us forget about our manners. More and more nowadays I run into people who are more interesting in their cell phones than the people around them. Even when I go to the mall I do sometimes peer into the restaurants and notice how many people are sitting there with someone else and yet paying more attention to their cell phones other then the people who are around them. Seriously people, put down your phone at times. I do sometimes take a picture of something while I'm out to ask a question but I take the picture and quickly move on. I have seen it happen numerous times where the person is just taking a picture and texting right there. Again, its common sense just move out of the way while you wait to figure out from the person on the other end to tell you if the product is correct or not.

    Too many people have lost their manners because they are attached on to their cell phone, hanging out on Facebook, texting, etc etc..Sure, do that..its fine but there's a time and place for everything and if it is distracting you from whats going on around you or even the people around you...Well, put down the phone. Further more, just because you behave a certain way online doesn't mean its acceptable to behave that way in real life. In the past ten years I've noticed an increase in insane amount of stupid/rude comments. There's a way to behave and just because you behave that way online doesn't mean its acceptable to do so in real life. Anyways, the commentary of today is..put down your cell phones every once in a while and pay attention.
