  • "My so called life" rant of sorts.

So, as of late with Logan being sick a few days this week I've rediscovered one of my old favorite tv shows called "My so called life". It only ran for one season and when it came out I was 14 years old. Mind you, I discovered this show when MTV started showing it in the 7pm time slot right before "Bevis and Butthead". It became and guilty pleasure of mine at a younge age and honestly as I've come to re-watch it I do see that I do still love this show.

When I was a teen of course, I saw the whole Angela side of things..Now, it's kind of interesting because being married and with a child I can also see her parents side of the plot points as well..It's kind of watching a whole new show because I see a whole new view on the plots they cover in the show. Of course, when I was a teen watching this show I never understood the adult aspect of it but looking back it I have to say it really is brillant writing. As I've seen more times then once the child's life does kind of parraell the adult life in one way or another and well, sometimes as adults you don't notice the similar lines in life immedately..Probably why I still find this show so interesting if not more so interesting now.

I'm also noticing how 'dated' it is..Seriously, in one episode Gram(Angela's dad) is outside working on the roof and he has a stero out with him playing a cd..At the time, this was the major thing but now a days the trend would be an media player of some sort. The clothes are also clearly a 'dated' sign. There's a whole lotta flannel going on the show and I can't help but remember that time when grunge was in..This is making me feel old. Seriously though, that was a wonderful time of fashion. It was so laid back and you could just go outside with fluffy hair and a flannel shirt and be done with it..

Regardless, I even still find the topics they cover in the writing is wonderful and again still true to date. The whole thing about beauty still holds true even now. It's nice to revisit an old show and still see the beauty in the show. I'm constantly amazed with the more episodes I watch that this show only ran one season. It's still so true to date and I must say even now looking back at it Jared Leto is still a hottie and I love the whole Anglea/Jordon relationship.

Anyways, thats my ranting..I'm still going back to finish watching the series..I think I'm on epsiode 6 now outta 19. I just watched the Halloween episode last night and I again was rather amazed by it and the Halloween episode did remind me of a "Buffy" episode as well which to me now added to charm of the show.

At any rate, thats my ranting for today..Until I update again...Hasta!

  • Random babbling of sorts.

It's a long weekend and of course, our house has been slightly busy. We had the normal Saturday company of Norm and we I think are suppose to be expecting Ryan here at some point so that he can get a tiny virus off of my computer that Logan recently discovered. Long story short, he found the virus he's pretty sure he knows how to get it off of there but he wants an extra hand and an extra head to help him think it through.

Anyways, yesterday Norm brought over laundry which really isn't a big deal but well, he did have plans on doing his own laundry. One thing lead to another.......and yes, I did his laundry! I folded it and all..I'm sorry I couldn't help myself. I have nothing against laundry and well, as of late he's pretty much become part of the family. I don't know what happened to me when I turned 30 but I'm all kind of wifey/mommy person. Infact, just a few weeks ago I made Ryan some muffins to take home with him. I think I've come to take after my mom as the years have rolled by. I remember my mom always taking really good care of guests, my friends and whatnot..I think it's just kind of rubbed off on me as I've been getting older..that and well, part of me knows that Norm is away from home so when he comes over I like to give him comforts of home even if it's something as simple as making dinner. Yep, yep..I've come to love making dinner for guests now too. I've cooked for Ryan and Norm on numerous occasions. To me, it gives me the warm fuzzies to take care of people...again, it's the whole housewife/mommy thing in me taking over.

At any rate, for a house that used to not get a lot of vistors we know have one normal weekend guest whose here every Saturday like clockwork. We also have the same guest aka Norm coming over for a nice labor day dinner of meatloaf which I'm making and Ryan has been here a lot more as of late as well..Hey, I'm not complaining at all. It's nice to have friends that come by and well, are nice enough to call before just randomly showing up..those are the friends that I care the most about and yes, I will do laundry for them, bake 'em a cake and whatnot because well, they are a welcomed part of our family. If anything it keeps Logan and I from killing each other at times- the best marriage help you can get sometimes are friends in all honesty.

Oh, and in other randomness..We are finally making real progress with Gavii's potty training. I've had three days this week where I've had no wet diapers unless it was in the morning or a poopy accident. She's getting back to where she was at one point in time which is great because I do believe I can met my goal of her being potty trained by her birthday. I am still contemplating buying some big girl underwear and making her go a day in them just so she gets it but other then that she's doing great overall. She's also been allowing me to work with her on his speech here and there as well..Oh and as of today, she has a pretend friend..Yes, she has her first imaginary friend who well, she says she can change his/her name whenever because it's 'her' pretend friend. The only thing that was annoying about this was that she wanted me to make her another plate of food for her pretend friend but I told her that she could share with her friend and she was okay with that..

Also, in more randomness my husband was nice enough to bring me back a just because pineapple today from wal-mart. A little bit of a story behind this is that he used to buy me pineapples a lot right after we first got married. It's been a long while since he's picked me up a pineapple and well, today he got up early and headed out to do some grocery shopping and he came back with a pineapple..trust me on this one, I'd much rather have fruit and little gestures over flowers..Yes, flowers are nice but seriously, it's the little gestures that count and the pineapple was a sweet gesture. He even took the time to cut it up for me and put it into tupperware.

Other then that, I'm making a meatloaf tomorrow for everyone and Logan is going to handle the side dishes. Hopefully, this time we won't forget an anything so that it turns out looking like a meatloaf. Last time I made one it ended up being more meat and less loaf..with Norm being over I just kinda hope I don't mess it up and ruin and good home cooked meal for him.

Oh and the heat wave has ended but it's still rather hot outside so we've still been kind of hiding inside the house...Hopefully, soon the heat will let up for real so we can head out and do some fun things..Oh well, that's my ranting for today..Until I update again...Hasta!

  • Random dribble..

So, this week are in..I hope the last bit of heat for summer. It's been upwards of 115 plus which I guess is good timing. Last Friday, I ended up complaining to my husband that I wanted 'out of the house'. Mind you, the last time I had left the house was when the oldest was in town and with the oldest long gone I was getting stir crazy and I knew it. He took it upon himself to make me a hair appointment at Toni and Guy. I was taken aback by this because that wasn't what I asked for..I would have been happy just going to Super Target, having a coconut moca and grocery shopping but he decided that when I say 'I want outta the house' it meant I wanted a hair appointment. That was infact, part true because I've wanted one for a while now but I was willing to wait especially with the unplanned expense of the new patio door. Needless to say that resulted in an early bedtime for the entire house just so I could make the appoitment the following day.

The only bad news with the appointment was that the guy who has been cutting my hair for the past year and a half had gotten a promotion and moved on to another store. Yes, I was a tad upset about this but I figured ya know, he made the appointment and I've been getting my hair done at this salon for years..I mine as well start my search for another 'regualar' hair dresser. Mind you, this had never been a search but after the past year I realized it was nice to just walk in and say 'do what you want' or 'touch it up and do the normal'..it was a nice comfort.

Anyways, on Saturday I got to the appointment by the skin of my teeth with no time for coffee beforehand BUT I did take a shower, get coffee, get Gavii into a bath, and get breakfast taken care of all before I left. All in all it was a rather strange appointment. I had to sign a 'waiver' for my color and mind you, I've been getting my hair dyed there for almost eight years now so I thought this was strange. The last time I signed one was when I was pregnant and about to give birth..Oh well, I signed off and went along my merry way. The chick dying my hair was a bit brutal with the comb and the dye but oh well, my hair is always sore for a while after..The chick that cut my hair had cut my hair before so I knew she was good but she was rather quiet. All in all it wasn't the same but I will keep looking. Normally, I'm against having my hair cut by a man but after my last hair stylist I almost prefere it..It just wasn't the same..oh well, come January I'll go back to the drawing board and try someone else.

At any rate, once I was done with my hair cut I came home, got Gavii set up with lunch and then we took some quick pictures and I mean quick because it was horribly hot outside. Then, our friend Norm came over and we ran some arena's in World of Warcraft and then once that was said and done we made a family dinner. Well, okay I had to order Logan subway because he's allergic to salmon but Logan still handled a side dish. We hung out and eventually Gavii's bedtime rolled around and yeah, I got tired and ended up on the couch for a while and took a nap. I oddly enough came downstairs to still hearing voices at 1am..Norm was still over and yeah, like normal..Logan and I just looked at each other and said 'we're up late..it must be Saturday!.'

All in all we've had a rather busy house as of late. Ryan has been over a lot all things considering and Norm is over every Saturday. It's gotten to the point where Gavii has been asking 'whose coming over today?' which is honestly pretty strange for this house yet I do welcome it. Hey, as long as they call before they show up..I don't care. As it stands I'm contemplating trying my hand at meatloaf again on Saturday with Norm. I mean last weekend we all kinda made dinner and I do like the whole 'family' dinner idea. It's a lot more intimate then just ordering out althought that does have it's callings as well..I do kinda like making food with other people.

Anyways, it's hot as crap out again today and we've been doing the whole grocery delievery thing a lot. Come tomorrow, Logan has to head out to drop off some bills and to pick up some odds and ends that you can't get on the grocery delievery site..then, we can hide inside some more. I'm still not sure on if I'm going to make meatloaf or not on Saturday or maybe even swai or maybe even order our for sushi or something else but yeah, it's all up in the air for right now. I am excited to have my Warhammer hero fixed though by Norm. That hero has been a project of mine since I was 19. I'd like to finally have that hero done and displayed somewhere. The blood, sweat and tears I've put into that hero and how many times I've painted him..urgh, it's about time that project of mine is done. Then again, I put that project into storage for a long while too and didn't think about it..regardless, I'd like to have that project in the bag and done. I'd feel accomplished if I could do that..

Anyways, thats my ranting for today..I'll save the rest for later..Hasta!

  • Slowly getting back to normal.

It's been a few days now and the house seems to be re-adjusting to the oldest child being gone. We've been slowly trying to return to normal or well as much of normal as we can get back to anyways..We cooked A LOT when the oldest was in town and as a result we are both kinda still worn out from all of the cooking so we've been ordering out a lot as of late. Oh and I also finally got around to baking again. Long story short, I wanted to make some pumpkin/chocolate chip bread while Ryan aka Gavii's godfather some muffins while he was on the airplane taking back the oldest but well, I was too lazy. As it turns out yesterday things just worked out rather well..He got locked outta his place and ended up spending yesterday over here. I was able to make some bread and some muffins and send him home with some baked goods.

Anyways, tomorrow is Saturday and that means Norm is heading over. This week he's going to show me how to make some salmon with dill and lemon. I've never had salmon like that..or well, at least that I can remember so I'm excited to learn. I've been learning how to cook generally only from Logan for a while now and well, I do apperciate learning new things from other people especially when it comes down to cooking and baking BUT I am getting rather good at cooking. I tried out the pumpkin/chocolate chip receipe yesterday all by myself without any help and it turned out wonderful! Sure, I almost put cumin in there but still I caught it when I noticed the smell of the spice..Yeah, needless to say I'm getting a lot smarter when it comes down to baking. Of course, I did mess up and I put the muffins/bread on two seperate parts of the oven IE: one on the top and one on the bottom. I should have put them both side by side but oh well, it was only a minor thing that I messed up and it wasn't really a mess up just the bread took about ten minutes longer then it should have.

At any rate, we did get a great storm last night too- okay, so compared to most storms it was rather tame but it gave us a great chance to step outside and take some pictures in wind. We only have a small amount of time per year where you can sit outside in wind and enjoy it. We typically try to get some great pictures while the monsoon is here but we haven't had a chance to do so yet this year but last night we got the chance to finally get some good wind pictures.

In other news, I am trying to get Gavii back on track too with the potty training. Now, we did have plans on heading out to Target or Wal-mart today but Gavii had other plans in the way of a late breakfast and an early bath so that cancelled out our plans to finally head out of the house. Yeah, we've been in the house for a couple of weeks now straight because we discovered online grocery ordering/delievery so since it's so hot outside we've really been using it a lot. To us, this time of year it's just more convient and it was really convient when we had two kids in toe. No having to listen to both kids complain in the car and no fights at the grocery store over impulse buys and junk food. Anyways, hopefully we can manage a trip outta the house soon..Logan is the one who keeps sneaking out and going to CVS and whatnot for odds and ends but I personally haven't left the house in the week. I'm so tempted just to book my hair appointment now and a tad early which yeah, we already discussed that happening but with this month being rather expensive with plane travel, a car being moved here, and an unexpected expense of a broken back patio door I think I'm gonna wait until Septemberish just to make sure that we can budge a little bit better overall and make up for all the costs of August.

As I was saying..I am trying to get Gavii back on track with the potty training and the second we can get out to a store I'm gonna stock up on 'big girl underwear' for her and just see..She's close..It's that whole number two in the toliet that she hasn't been able to get..Maybe after a few messy accidents she'll get it..Sure, for a while I know she's still going to need the diapers at night but still..if I can just get her to get to that point we'll have so many options schoolwise. My goal is to have her potty trained by her birthday this year..It's a realistic goal and as long as she doesn't get sick and she takes to the big girl underwear I think I can do it. Also, I want to get her back on track with the writing. I got a few workbooks from Barnes and Noble in hopes of helping her out with her letters..Once next week rolls around I'm gonna try and get her to work on her writing. We'll see how that one goes because when it comes down to learning with me she tends to just not like it....I've been trying to work with her words flashcards with her too and a lot of the time she'll scream 'NO! NOT NOW LATER!'..I'll ask a few times after she screams at me then I eventually give up and I do try later. Oh well, once we're both caught up on sleep a bit more it's gonna be back to business and whatnot with her and trying to find her a good school or at least a good tutor program for the rest of the year.

Oh well, that's my ranting for today..I wish I had more exciting things to talk about but we're just waiting for the heat to go away right now. Once the heat breaks and hopefully soon we'll be out and about a lot more and doing fun things. We also promised Gavii a trip to the zoo with Uncle Ryan once it gets cooler outside..It's just a matter of it getting a bit cooler outside. Oh well, thats my ranting for today...Until I update again...Hasta!

  • I know..I've been slacking on an update.

So, today was the day that we sent the oldest onto an airplane and back home. Part of the reason why it's been a while since I've updated is because things didn't exactly go as planned and well, plans had to be changed. Blah, but the good news is that we know now that certain airlines don't do the 'unaccompanied minor' thing until the age of 13. Anyways, things got set up and now Ryan and her are on an airplane and heading to Illinois then Ryan hops another plane and comes back this way. I'm not exactly sure if he's coming over here after the fact but still, he's doing us a huge favor. Hopefully, by this time next year maybe I can go out that way if need be but well, we'll see..we also have a local friend(now local anyways) who we've known since we lived in Illinois..well, he's going to school out this way and he's been over every Saturday for a couple of weeks now and Gavii has a 'baby crush' on him BIG time..It's rather cute. Anyways, he's more then willing to go out and get her for us come next summer since he'll still be out this way and in school.

Anyways, in other randomness- some of you may have heard that Logan broke the back patio door while making popcorn. Yes, this is true..how it happened was amazing to say the least. Logan likes to flip the pots and pans as he cooks and that night he did just that..trying to show up and do tricks with the pan he was going to use. Well, it flew outta his hand and BAM!! The back window broke..I sat in shock for a couple of minutes and then we started the clean up process. Thankfully, the oldest was very helpful with the whole situation and well, we kept a very close eye on her as well to insure that no one got hurt in the clean up process. I started calling up some 24 hour places and well, a few of them were very rude so we had to stop and figure out how to put something on the window for overnight. Anyways, diaper boxes ended up being the answer and yes, the door did get fixed the following day for about 600 dollars. Mind you, we were going to do that part of home improvement...eventually but just that this month so yeah, it was a little frustrating knowing that we had to put out money that we hadn't budgeted for but oh well, we needed it fixed and quickly as possible.

At any rate, it's very quiet in the house today with having one less kid. It was also rather strange only having two bowls again at lunch time but well, so far Gavii is adjusting well to being an only child again. Today shortly after her sister left I got her into a bath and yes, she threw down a bit but it wasn't too major. Once she got downstairs she asked to play the Wii and she happily played Mario cart alone while I took care of a few things in the kitchen. By the time I headed up to a shower she told me she was done and I headed upstairs. All in all though Gavii has been playing around alone and in fact, today she was playing 'tag' by herself while listening to music on her Itouch which was rather humerous to say the least. Oh and as of last night Gavii is getting really well at talking on the phone. She's talking to Norm, Nick and now William all on the phone and she's figuring it out rather well and anyways, her phone using skills have grown a bit in the last few weeks.

Anyways, I'm really looking forward to next Saturday...Norm is coming over again and this weekend we're going to try something different aka he's going to show me how he makes salmon. It involves some butter and dill weed and he says it's rather simple..meanwhile, he's going to make the same thing except with Talipia so that Logan doesn't get killed in the process seeing as how he's allergic to salmon.

At any rate, I'm just working on cleaning up the spare bedroom now and cleaning up the middle bathroom now. Our one friend is going through a bit of a hard time right now and well, our other friend has been staying over later and later each weekend so to me it seems logically to clean up the room now just incase one of our friends decides they don't want to go home that night or just want a place to crash..As of now we are still in the middle of the storm season and with our one friend heading over and staying over rather late it may just happen where a storm rolls in and we decide we don't want him taking the hour drive home. Oh well, by tomorrow things upstairs should be put back into place just incase someone wants to crash in that room for the night.

Oh well, as of right now I'm itchy..again, I don't know what bit me but something did and I have huge bite under my hair..urgh..hopefully that'll go away. Then again, we've been fighting with ants for a long while now so I wouldn't be shocked if it's an ant bite. Seriously, I had to spray a whole lotta ants this morning, help the oldest finish getting ready then spray more ants while the kids ate..Urgh, this has been the worst summer ever when it comes down to the ant issue. We can't locate where they are coming from and what they are after. Since the door broke we've been sweeping up and trying to get the last of the glass picked up so yeah...the floor is slowing becoming cleaner and cleaner. Oh and I did get my new dishwasher installed finally..It's been so long since I've updated that I never got a chance to mention that..the new dishwasher is so quiet half the time I have to check to see if it's actually still running..that and I can unload a load rather quickly..the last one I had to wait at least an hour before unloading the thing. At any rate, if we keep breaking stuff at this rate the little messes and clutter will be picked up in no time and kind of by accident at that..

Anyways, that's my ranting for today..I bet we're going to take the rest of the week to kind of take a break and get back to 'normal' and readjust ourselves before we jump into everything we have to get done..there's a car improvement project that we have to get started, continue to look into Gavii's schools, etc etc..the list has been growing and now after a short break we'll go back to business and trying to get things started/taken care of..

    Okay, that's my ranting for today...Until I update again...Hasta!

  • One week left.

So, we have roughly a week left with the oldest child left and all in all I must say other then a few things it's been rather nice visit overall. We are trying to work on certain things as a household here with the oldest and with the youngest but still the oldest has been rather helpful with the youngest as well so it's all worked out for the most part.

The dishwasher was put in this week and I was upstairs finishing my hair and whatnot when it showed up. Thankfully, the oldest jumped to help and by the time I was downstairs again the dishwasher was mostly installed. I must say though- I do love the new dishwasher and it's oddly quiet compared to the last one. Yes, the 'running time' on a cycle is about the same(unless I do a half load) but still it's a little more 'high tech' then the last one we got and it for sure doesn't run as hot as the last one. I can literally unload the dishwasher within 15 minutes of the time the wash is done which well, I couldn't do with the last dishwasher because it just ran that hot overall..

Anyways, the plane tickets haven't been gotten yet but they should be taken care of at some point tonight..Hopefully, the fact that we have a 'credit' on the one name on the ticket they won't cost too much. Logan was suppose to take care of it last night but thanks to him and the oldest being up half the night the night before that never got taken care of..

At any rate, I plan on taking the oldest to see "The Smurfs" on Monday, Tomorrow we have company showing up aka Norm. He's been over three times as of late. He's out here learning all about motorcycles and since he's so close he's been stopping by. Oh and of course, Norm was the one to help unload the car from the truck the other weekend.

At any rate, tonight Logan is making pork chops. Hopefully, his pork chops don't end up too dry because I don't hate pork chops but I have yet to have a moist pork chop..We'll see if he can complete his mission of making a non-dry pork chop. Tomorrow, we're having bratwursts and the oldest is having a burger since she doesn't like brats(we let her try them and she really didn't like them)..Anyways, this is offically the last weekend we have with the oldest so we are trying to make the most of it. Norm is bringing over his media drive filled with movies and whatnot so while us as adults are hanging out we'll put on a movie or two from his media drive and then eventually make dinner somewhere in there..

    Well, that's my update for now..Until I update again..Hasta!

  • Got the car!

So, yesterday was the big day. Mind you, we had to have a talk with our oldest and let her know the night before what was going on and that for once we'd need her help with Gavii and whatnot. All in all it went off without a hitch. Logan went to go and get the rest of the money for the car when it was delievered(mind you they didn't give us the total until the last minute) so we had to get the money at the last minute.

The day went by rather smoothly. I was able to shower while the kids kept an eye on each other. Mind you, I took a shower downstairs which in all the years I've lived here I've never done that but on Saturday I made that exception just so I could shower and be ready for the day yet still keep an ear out on the kids. All in all it worked out rather well..Norm showed up right as I was finishing up lunch and then we waited for the car to show up. Of course,  they had to call my cell phone even though Logan told them to not call it unless it was an emergency but of course, they had to call my cell phone to confirm and re-confirm the drop off..Urgh, oh well..the drop off happened right when I was taking Gavii upstairs to a nap and all in all it went pretty smoothly. The car was easy for the boys to get off the truck and it wasn't that much work. Oh and after the car showed up we had a nice thunderstorm which we being in Arizona and crazy we all ended up sitting outside in the rain. Anyways, once the sun went down we all went out front and checked out the car. Eventually it came down to Logan and Norm running out to Auto Zone to pick up another battery just to see how well the car worked and well, once the new battery was put in it turned on and it worked pretty smoothly for a short time but it still needs some work.

Once all was said and done Norm ended up starting something with the oldest. Mind you, I took the kids inside when dinner showed up and we all ate first then the boys came in and ate. For some reason it came down to whose on a ten dollar bill and why..This ended up turning into a huge game with the oldest meanwhile the youngest Gavii continued to have a massive crush on Norm. All in all the day went by smoothly and without a hitch. Anyways, I got the youngest to bed then after some research and having the oldest look stuff up we sent her to bed and then us adults hung out for a little while. Yes, we ended up being up way later then normal but oh well..

Anyways, today has ended up being rather uneventful compared to yesterday. Yes, we do still have to make room in the garage for the car but that'll be next weekend most likely. Then again, Gavii has a new baby crush aka Norm. She used to like Nick and then it went to William and now everyday when I get her outta bed she's on her pretend cell phone calling Norm and talking to him. To her he's the best thing since sliced bread now which I have to admit is actually kinda cute then again, all of her baby crushes have been really cute thus far.

Oh well, that's my ranting for today..We have a lot of work to do on this car now, Gavii's school and a few other things but all things will work themselves out..Oh well, that's my ranting for now..Until I update again..Hasta!

  • The loophole.

So, Gavii's schooling has been a major concern for months now and well, now it's come to a head. Basically, we spent about a week fighting silently with each other..Yes, this is possible with our oldest in town we've kind of been fighting here and there after the kids go to bed on what's right and what's wrong. Logan took me over to the school they want her to go to and yes, the area looks horrible. Mind you, I did some digging and found out that the inside of the school wasn't looking too much better then the outside. Yep, basically, the test scores from last years school year had hit..Last time I checked, they hadn't hit..Yeah, not good. Anyways, we had a long ten hour 'adult meeting' on what to do last night and after talking to the school that they want to send her to we've decided that maybe the school they want to send her to isn't the best option.

Today, in between talking to the accountant and whatnot Logan called up some other school options. After that, we've gotten a bunch of leads and a bunch of help from other schools. We've decided to not go ahead with sending her to school they want to send her to. In other words, they want to take her from a highly rated school to the WORST rated school in the state..Yes, the worst rated school with the state and they are suppose to help her out with her speech when half the kids there can barely speak Enlish..yeah, no thanks.

At any rate, after making some phone calls we've decided that Gavii will not be going to the school that they want to send her to. We're going to look into getting her into some of the other 'outside' school programs we've been looking at just to help get her caught up. I've also ordered some books and whatnot online just now to help with her writing skills. We're gonna use this year to get her outside help outside of the school that's well..honestly not that great. We'll take our time finding a study program for her, potty training and possibly some speech therapy in there too. Sure, we'll be back to square one on driving her around but it's better then the other option. We'll oversee things and make sure that the right people are dealing with her. She's grown in leaps and bounds and we can help her get there moreso..this school..not so much.

Anyways, for those of you out there who are wondering..that's the update for today..until I update again..Hasta!

  • I am NOT loving it..

So, Gavii's first day of school is coming up and quick. Yes, she starts on the 25th which is not that far away and we've already starting getting the first of the paperwork for her school. She's already on the bus route and well, I figured the pick up time would be a lot earlier then it ended up being but oh well, I still have to get up rather early to get her fed(unless we're sending her to school with money). Mind you, I feel better sending her in with an actual lunch as opposed to money(since that'll add up overtime). If one of us is sick sending her to school with money will most likely happen but still..

What I'm NOT loving is their uniform policy..I didn't think it was THAT strict. All the shoes we just got her she can't even wear..urgh. I figured they'd at least let these young kids express themselves in some way but nope, everything down to the socks is covered in their policy..Urgh. I could let this go if we were paying good money for a good education but it gets worse..Just to refresh my memory I re-looked up scores and a percentage of what races are enrolled..Yeah, lets just say the state scores(the ones from the last school year have recently been posted as well)..Anyways, they are still underpar as of late school year on math but the reading and writing is actually not that bad. Call me crazy but both my husband and I are horrible at math and the fact they are so underrated on math scares me. I'd like her to be able to get help with math with people who are actually good at it. I remember back in my elementary and even jr high days I'd be able to get tutors through the school for free on math with how low the scores are in math I'm questioning on if we'll have to hire outside help in that area(eventually). I've also re-looked up the stats..yeah, the hispanic is still the highiest on the list for that school(as of last years school year data). Not to mention, I read a few reviews from parents and the hands down thing seems to be that the front office is rude. The last school Gavii was in the front office was a pleasure to deal with and they were more then helpful on things(even though they accidently sent the wrong paperwork once or twice) they were also more then willing to say 'sorry' for mistakes..I hate calling Gavii out to begin with but if the staff is rude it'll make it that much more difficult to call her out..Needless to say I'm trying to tell myself to calm down and give these guys a chance..From what I've read the younger grades are great at this school..Just once they hit 5th grade it gets wishy/washy on teachers...Oh and I've also read the art program is lacking which again scares me..My husband and I are both artist and musical. I would hate for her to go into a school that doesn't offer good arts program but again I'm trying to calm myself down and at least give them a shot and well, to see where Gavii stands on the programs..Will she thrive or will she not? I guess only time will tell..We are trying to just give them a shot on their programs.

At first glace..again I'm not loving it but we'll see where things go and if she likes it or not..If she starts kicking and screaming to go school that'll be a red flag. Right now, she's been begging to get back on a school bus..so yeah, she had a great experience with pre-school if her idea of school chances due to this school the other options will start being seriously looked into but again, I'm trying to calm down and give them a shot..We'll see..Until I update again..Hasta!

  • So far..so good.

I know it's been a while since I've updated but well, so far so good with our oldest daughter coming into town. If anything she's been a good influence on Gavii which is great. Long story short, Gavii used to want to eat baked beans, peas, and chef boyarde at 9am in the morning for breakfast but thanks to her sister she now loves and I mean LOVES fruit loops. Logan and I were hoping that certain traits from her sister would wear off on her younger sister and well, so far so good.

Also, the oldest one has become a little clingy to me which well isn't a bad thing..she's been like that since back in the day. Her latest request is to help her get to bed at night..Which I really don't mind. I'm so used to putting her to bed anyways(as a younger kid) that well, I don't mind her tucking herself in and then be turning off the lights for her. In fact, earlier this month she got a nose bleed and she yelled for me not her dad. Sure, Logan was a bit taken aback by that but he kind of saw that coming..

Anyways, other then some food fights over what we're feeding her and what she gets for a snack everything seems to be going pretty smoothly. If anything, it's a lot easier then it used to be with her when she was really little and we can teach her things easier as well which is great!

Now, Gavii on the other hand..She keeps getting distracted by her sister..We're still iffy on the potty training. For about a day or two she was doing great..Now she's too distracted and excited to spend every moment with her sister so she's stopped asking to go potty and even gotten angry at the request to go potty. My only savor is that Logan and the oldest have been sleeping in so I can get a few hours where she'll go potty..Well, we're working on it..She was so close but now with the excitement and all it's hard to talk her into going potty..I may have to get her sister to take her because other then that I don't see a way right now. It has been two years since she's seen her sister so of course, she's thrilled and doesn't want to leave her side.

Oh and her sister has been reading her bedtime stories and helping her in the bath too. One night she even let her sister braid her hair which is a big thing because well, she won't let me do that anymore. Half the time I feel like chopped liver and the other half I feel like I'm really needed..It's give and take.

We finish registering Gavii for her kindger next week..Yeah, her vacation is already over and I did promise my oldest I would take her to the newest "Harry Potter" so that'll happen next week as well..It's been a busy month and we still have to get Gavii set up and ready for school..Of course, once the oldest leaves we have a lot to take care of still..Urgh..Oh well, I guess thats the part of being an adult afterall.

    Anyways, I just know it's been a long while since I've updated so I figured I'd update...Until I update again...Hasta!
